Frequently Asked Questions

How many people are in each club
A maximum of 15. This number has been tried and tested during the 35+ other clubs we run at Simply Books and we've found it to be the perfect number- so much so every group space at Prologue has been designed around it.
How long are sessions?
Each session lasts for approximately an hour and is always at the same time each month.
Do I get a drink included?
Definitely. Alongside your host, the bar team will be on hand to get you whatever your want. Your first drink is on us (choose from a barista-made coffee, tea, soft drink, bottled beer or a small glass of our house wine) with 15% off your bar tab for the rest of the night if you want to stay and continue the conversation.
Am I locked into a contract?
Certainly not. We want you to be part of your club because you want to be, not because you have to be. You can cancel and leave at any time, with your last session depending on the date of your payment.

You can also pause for up to two months per year, meaning there's no reason to leave and lose your space for things like holidays! If you need to pause for longer than that, we will do our best to keep your space for you but may need to free it up out of fairness to the waitlist.
Where are sessions held?
Each session is held in one of our purposely designed group spaces, with the exact ones depending on scheduling needs at the time of the club. Whether it's our gorgeous glass room, cosy booth, or communal library table you'll be in the perfect setting.
What if I try my club and don't like it?
Over the years, we've got quite good at making sure people are in the right book clubs and having a great time. Sometimes, though, it's not the right fit. That's why we will help you swap into a more suitable group as many times as needed until you feel comfortable!
Can we stay afterwards?
You can indeed, in fact we've designed everything to make this the norm if you so choose. Dedicated reserved spaces will be available for the conversation to continue, with the aformentioned discount on your bar tab to help keep everything flowing, too.
What if I miss a month but didn't pause?
Don't worry! We understand things crop up, so it is no problem at all. If you miss multiple months, we would reach out to check everything is okay and make sure you want to keep your place- just so we can keep the group full of active discussion for other members.

The good news is any books from a month you've missed are kept at Prologue, ready for you to pick up next time, and you will have access to the WhatsApp group throughout to keep up with the chat! Though, it's worth noting the other elements of your membership such as the session itself and free first drink do not roll over to future months.
